NEXT-STEP: IMPROVING OUR FOOTPRINT FOR GENERATIONS TO COME

NEXT-STEP aims to develop recyclable products from wood production residues for everyday applications. New biochemical materials will be developed for shoe soles and insulation materials.

Follow our NEXT-STEPS

Becoming less dependent on oil

NEXT-STEP realizes a sustainable, safe, and affordable way to produce groundbreaking bio-based chemicals (aMVL, 3MdVL and 3MPD) at large scale. These innovative molecules will improve the sustainability and recyclability of Polyurethane (PU) products and open up new possibilities for bio-based Polylactic acid (PLA) co-polymers.

Project structure

The NEXT-STEP project follows the value chain, starting from the biomass residues from birchwood production to platform chemicals all the way to production of novel materials for applications like shoe soles and insulation materials.
